My Top 3 Picks: Chelan Wineries
I won’t hold it against you if you don’t want to read this entire guide. If that’s the case, here are my top three choices for the best wineries in Chelan Washington. These wineries have the best tasting wine, best atmosphere, and best service.
1. Tipsy Canyon Winery – This winery is located back into the Chelan hills, with amazing views of a smaller lake. The winery has a large tasting room, large outdoor patio, and hillside for extra seating.
There’s something special about this winery that is difficult to describe. Tipsy Canyon feels like you are visiting family. Plus, the wine is delicious!
On Thursdays in the summer, Tipsy Canyon hosts local bands and food trucks, which is super fun.
2. Benson Vineyards – Benson is a close drive to downtown Chelan and Manson. It has one of the most beautiful properties out of all the Chelan Wineries.
The outdoor area has plenty of seating and flat grassy area. From the outdoor area, there are panoramic views of Lake Chelan that can’t be beat.
In addition, Benson is home to Mystic Pizza, which serves delicious Italian food that pairs great with the award-winning wine.
3. Siren Song – This winery looks like it’s straight out of the Tuscan countryside. The large building is a great place for events or cold-weather tasting.
The outdoor area is equally beautiful and has views across the lake. The patio is shared space between wine tasting and the restaurant.
You can order flatbread pizzas, bruschetta, or other Italian food to compliment your wine flight. I actually think Siren Song has one of the best restaurants in Chelan.

Wineries in Chelan with the Best Wine
While some wineries lack the views listed above, they make up for it with delicious wines. Many of the wines are estate varieties, which always makes them extra special to me.
Since most of the wineries are smaller and family-owned, you will often have the opportunity to speak with the winemakers themselves and get all your questions answered.
Cairdeas
Hours: everyday 12-5, reservations encouraged
Tasting Fee: $15 / 5 pours
Website
Cairdeas is hard to miss with their large brown barn and shiny copper roof. This large event space includes a tasting area and members-only lounge. In addition to the barn, enjoy the covered patio tasting area.
My favorite thing about Cairdeas is their unique varietals of wine, all of which are super tasty. They produce Rhone inspired wines such as Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan. If you stop by, enjoy trying their wine and be sure to chat with the owners as well.
Amos Rome Vineyards
Hours: Daily noon-5
Tasting Fee: $10/ 6 pours
Website
For a long time, Amos Rome grew grapes and sold them to other wineries in the valley. More recently, they’ve begun producing their own estate wines.
I’m glad they did, because they have some of the best red wine in the region. I’m obsessed with all of the reds on their tasting menu, which makes it hard to decide which bottle to purchase.
I also love the value of their tasting, to get 6 pours for only $10.
Succession
Hours: Sun-Thurs 12-6, Fri-Sat 12-7
Tasting Fee: $15 / 5 pours
Website
Directly next to Cairdeas, you will find Succession winery, another great option for great wine in Chelan. Unlike Cairdeas, Succession serves more typical varietals. You can expect to find a lot of your favorites here!
Since all the wine is great here, I highly recommend a tasting. Afterwards, you can choose your favorite bottle to open on site or take home.
Karma Vineyards
Hours: Thurs-Mon 11-4
Tasting Fee: $15 / 3 heavy pours
Website
Karma is one of the only wineries in Chelan that makes sparkling wine. Karma is one of my favorites simply because I love sparkling wines and they do them well.
I highly recommend trying their sparkling flight when you visit, they call it a tasting, but it is basically three full glasses of bubbly.
In addition to great wine and stunning grounds, Karma has great food. The onsite bistro serves delicious brunch and lunch.
Best Wineries in Chelan for the Views
One of my favorite things about Chelan is the beautiful lake views wherever you turn.
For those that don’t know, Chelan is in a valley in the cascade mountains in Washington state. The lake is one of the largest and deepest in the United States and is surrounded by mountains and hills.
Many wineries in Chelan take advantage of these views by putting their tasting rooms in the hills facing the water.
Benson Winery & Vineyards
Hours: everyday 11-5
Tasting Fee: $15 / 4 pours
Website
Benson is one of the most scenic wineries, in my opinion. The tasting room, café and winery grounds are designed in a Tuscan style, bringing a bit of Italy to Washington.
Facing the lake, they have a large patio with tables. The entire patio area has panoramic views of the lake and valley.
Benson is one of the most popular wineries, so arrive early if you want a table. Otherwise, bring a blanket to spread out on the grass.
If you buy a bottle, I highly recommend the Sangiovese or Rose. In addition, they have a small café serving casual Italian food. I recommend the burrata or margherita pizza for a hearty snack.
Tipsy Canyon
Hours: everyday 11-5:30
Tasting Fee: $15 / 5 pours
Website
Tipsy Canyon is another winery in Chelan with great lake views. In comparison to some other wineries on this list, Tipsy Canyon is more casual, but I love it!
The tasting room is a large cabin-style room with a covered outdoor patio. There is also an outdoor fireplace for the winter!
Beyond the tasting room is a large grassy hill, all with views of the lake. Tipsy Canyon is great for groups because they have a large stack of Adirondack chairs that you are free to arrange on the hill.
Siren Song
Hours: Mon, Thurs, Fri 3-7 & Sat, Sun 12-7
Tasting Fee: $20 / 4 pours
Website
Siren Song is one of the more formal wineries in Chelan. The large Tuscan-style estate sits on a hill overlooking the lake.
The main building has multiple rooms for dining and tasting, with a large veranda outside with more tables. Since it is more formal here, plan to dress up a bit beyond lake attire and expect to sit at a table.
In addition to great wines, Siren Song has some of the best food in Chelan. I recommend getting a burrata board or wood-fired pizza to go with your wine.
Silver Bell
Hours: Mon-Thurs, Noon-5
Website
Silver Bell is one of the newest wineries in Chelan and it’s family owned and operated. Although its new, it’s become a quick favorite of mine.
Like many of these Chelan wineries, Silver Bell has a large outdoor area with views of the lake. There is patio seating, pergolas with comfy couches, and a grassy area with lawn games.
Best Chelan Wineries for Live Music
Finally, the below wineries double as live music venues in the spring and summer. Their free concerts are great to enjoy with a bottle of wine or tasting.
Lake Chelan Winery
Hours: Sun-Thurs 11-8 & Fri-Sat 11-9
Tasting Fee: Complimentary
Website
Lake Chelan Winery is built out of a barn, with a large BBQ restaurant and grassy area in the back. They are also one of the only wineries in Chelan that offers complimentary tastings!
On Friday nights in the summer, the winery transforms an outdoor patio into a stage for local bands to perform. You can either enjoy the music from the restaurant or bring a blanket to enjoy it from the hill. Lake Chelan Winery is also very kid-friendly with lawn games and space for them to run around.
Wine Girl Wines
Hours: everyday 12-8
Website
Unlike all the other wineries on this list, Wine Girl’s is in downtown Manson, a town up the road from Chelan. While they don’t have a large property, they take advantage of their warehouse and lawn to throw great events.
I know this category is best for live music, but the big draw to Wine Girl Wine’s is their Monday night trivia. Many groups will show up for a competitive game of trivia, with questions crossing all categories from science to pop culture. The winner even gets a cash prize!
If you are more interested in live music, they have that too, just check the calendar.
Radiance Winery
Hours: everyday 11-5
Tasting Fee: $15 / 4 pours
Website
Radiance has a two-story tasting room in downtown Manson and a small tasting room on their property in the hills. Radiance has great wines, but my favorite thing about them is their wine slushies. They serve a frose and a sauvignon blanc slushy. I recommend ordering a mix of the two.
At the downtown location, they have live music on the weekends. This is a great option for a concert in Chelan if the weather is too hot or rainy to be outside.
Other Notable Wineries in Lake Chelan
The above wineries are my top choices in Chelan. However, there are so many great ones, here are some bonus picks:
- Fielding Hills Winery
- Rocky Pond Winery (tasting room downtown Chelan)
- Tsillian Cellars
- Rio Vista Winery

Why Go Wine Tasting in Chelan
When people think about the best wine regions, they likely think of France, Italy, or Napa. While these are the elite wine regions, Chelan wine country deserves a place on the map.
Chelan Washington has always been a apple farming town. In the past 20 years, people have began taking advantage of the lush soil to grow wine grapes.
Now, there are 30+ local wineries! Most of them are family owned and produce locally grown wines. What I love about wine tasting in Chelan is that every winery makes you feel like family and is much less pretentious than some of the larger wine regions.
In addition to great wine and atmosphere, these wineries in Chelan have great views of the lake and fun live music events. When you visit, be sure to select at least one winery from each category in this guide.
