Maui Fairmont Kea Lani Villas and Resort Review
I recently had the privilege of staying in one of the Fairmont Kea Lani’s ocean-view three-bedroom villas on my family vacation. While these villas are pricey, they offer a bespoke experience unlike any other.
This review will cover the Fairmont Kea Lani villas and the resort in general. Learn why you need to add this resort to your luxury vacation bucket list.
The Fairmont Kea Lani is my favorite resort in Maui and one of my favorite resorts in the world. Located in the beautiful, sunny, Wailea area, the Fairmont Kea Lani exceeds expectations in all aspects.
The resort offers hundreds of suites, three pool areas, exceptional dining, modern fitness center and incredible service.

Suites at Fairmont Maui
In addition to the Fairmont Kea Lani villas, there is a main resort building with hundreds of hotel rooms.
At the Kea Lani Maui, every room is a suite, which is great for families or those who prefer more space. The suites have modern-tropical furnishings, large bathrooms, and functional kitchenettes.
The suites are offered at different levels based on the view offered. While a garden view is less expensive, the ocean view suites are well worth the extra money.
Waking up to a beautiful Hawaiian sunrise on your ocean-view balcony is sure to be a highlight of your Maui vacation.
For families of 4 or less, the suites are the perfect size. The bedroom comes with either a king bed or two doubles.
The living room area has a sofa bed perfect for kids. For families larger than 4, opt for two neighboring rooms or consider upgrading to one of the Fairmont Kea Lani villas.
Fairmont Kea Lani Villas
As mentioned above, I recently stayed in one of the Fairmont Kea Lani villas and absolutely loved it. The ocean-front villas are all identical besides the two versus three-bedroom options.
Each villa has an open floor plan kitchen, dining and living room. This space is perfect for gathering as a family. The villas also have a private patio with a plunge pool, daybed, and barbecue.
These villas provide the ultimate luxury. While Wailea and the Fairmont Kea Lani both offer luxurious accommodations, the villas take it to the next level.
The extra space, high end finishes and privacy create a wonderful environment.
In addition to the amazing rooms, the villas come with other perks. Villa guests are offered free breakfast which has an approximate value of $60 per person.
There is free valet parking for villa guests at a value of approximately $40 per night. The Fairmont Kea Lani villas are also stocked with unlimited water, juices, and soft drinks.
If you are trying to decide between a Fairmont Kea Lani villa and a standard suite, consider your group size, occasion, and budget.
For a regular vacation, the suites are more than satisfactory. For a special family trip, wedding or honeymoon, the villas are sure to add a special touch.
Restaurant Options at Fairmont Kea Lani
Ko
The Ko restaurant at the Fairmont Kea Lani is often rated one of the best restaurants in Maui. Serving modern-Asian food, this restaurant offers an elevated dining experience for special occasions.
Ko overlooks the adult pool at the resort and has stunning views of the resort grounds. The service is exceptional, and the staff is very friendly. I recommend getting a reservation for this spot early as it fills up quickly.
Nicks Fishmarket
Nick’s Fishmarket is consistently one of my favorite restaurants in Maui. On my previous trip, we visited twice in one week because it is really that good.
Nicks serves an approachable seafood-focused menu with great meat options as well. The service is great here and does not feel stuffy. The staff will banter with guests, creating a fun and relaxing environment.
Nick’s is located near the lobby of the hotel and overlooks the koi pond and resort grounds. It also has a great view of the nightly torch lighting ceremony.
At Nick’s Fishmarket, I highly recommend ordering the catch of the day, scallops or filet mignon.
AMA
The most casual of this list, AMA is the pool bar and grill. Serving the restaurant and pool deck, AMA offers burgers, salads, poke and other casual fare.
The service for the pool is exceptional and the swim-up bar cannot be missed. While the food is a bit pricey, the convenience and quality is worth it.
Pool and Ocean at the Kea Lani Maui
The Fairmont Kea Lani has three pools: upper, lower and adult. The upper and lower pools are tailored to families with a basketball hoop and slide connecting the two.
I prefer the upper pool since it is vibrant from the people around and has access to the swim up bar. The lower pool has the most children and most splashing, I would avoid it unless you have young kids.
The adult pool is the most tranquil and quiet if that is what you seek.
A short walk from the pool is direct access to Polo beach. This small beach is great for swimming, snorkeling and boogie boarding.
The water is warm, and the waves are small, making it the perfect ocean experience.
Willow Stream Spa
Another great feature of the Fairmont Kea Lani is the Willow Stream Spa. The spa offers a wide variety of services that are tailored to each individual.
My favorite treatments are the signature massage or HydraFacial. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional.
Wailea Area of Maui
The surrounding Wailea is the best tourist area of Maui in my opinion. It is known for high-end resorts, fine dining, and ultimate luxury.
Some of the neighboring hotels such as the Four Seasons Maui and the Grand Wailea offer great restaurants and shopping.
There is a beautiful beach path that is great for morning walks or runs. It also connects all the resorts to the shops at Wailea. The shops at Wailea is a collection of high-end stores and classic restaurants.
Wailea also has great beaches. Polo beach, mentioned above, and Wailea beach are clean, easily accessible, and safe. If you are coming to Maui and have the money to spend, Wailea is the clear place to stay.
Summary of this Fairmont Kea Lani Review
By this point, I assume I have convinced you to plan a visit to the Fairmont Kea Lani villas.
The resort and surrounding area make the perfect destination for a babymoon, honeymoon, family vacation or romantic escape in the United States.
As with all Fairmont properties, except amazing service, amenities and memories.
