Luxury Cabins Near Mt Rainier
The Stormking Cabins are a collection of personal cabins near Mt Rainier, located right outside the Nisqually entrance to the National Park.
Each cabin has an open bedroom space with a large bed, a luxurious bathroom, and a private deck with a hot tub.
Personally, I love being in touch with nature but do not want to sacrifice any luxuries in doing so. The Stormking Cabins absolutely delivered on this.
The cabins smell richly of cedar, are tucked into the woods, and feature a skylight that provides wonderful views of the stars. This made me feel so close to nature.
The cabin also offers luxury linens, high-end toiletries, and the private deck is to die for, creating a wonderful high-end atmosphere.
Now, read below to learn more about this luxury stay near Mount Rainier and what you can expect if you choose to stay at the Stormking Cabins.
Stormking Cabin Room Review
The property consists of a main lodge, a spa building and four cabins. We stayed in the “Bear” cabin, the newest of the four.
The cabins are a perfect size for two people on a romantic getaway. The main room includes a bed, kitchen nook, fireplace and exit to the patio.
The other portion of the cabin is dedicated to the bathroom with a large vanity and giant walk in shower.
The kitchen nook contains a fridge/freezer, microwave, and basic kitchenware. The patio is outfitted with a hot tub, barbeque, and secluded forest views.
My favorite part of the room was the fireplace at the base of the bed. Since the fire is the main source of heat, it was on all day and night creating a wonderfully cozy atmosphere.
We fell asleep under the stars of the skylight with a fire cracking at the foot of the bed. This is truly the epitome of a Mount Rainier luxury cabin experience.
Service at the Stormking Cabins
The service was great! When we arrived at the lodge, we were welcomed by smiling employees and friendly kittens.
After a tiring, rainy, drive, we felt immediately at home upon arriving at the cabins. Since the owners live on-site, they offer 24/7 assistance and go above and beyond to make the experience seamless.
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help with anything you may need from hiking tips to restaurant recommendations.
Amenities Overview
“Rustic Luxury” summarizes the style of these Mount Rainier Luxury Cabins. There was not daily servicing of cabins for privacy reasons.
However, there were a lot of touches to make it feel high end. Some of these touches included: comprehensive amenity kits, hundreds of DVDs, resort-style linens, and an array of luxury chocolates in the room.
The DVD’s were great to watch cuddled up after a long day exploring and the chocolates tasted especially good while enjoyed in the hot tub.
A great way to round out your luxury stay near Mount Rainier would be a trip to Stormking spa. The spa offers massages, body treatments and facials for both individuals and couples.
Food Near Mount Rainier National Park
Unfortunately, there are no restaurants on site at the Stormking cabins. There are some basics for cooking including: microwave, fridge, freezer, grill, plates, utensils, and basic spices.
In the summer, I suggest preparing a barbeque meal and enjoying it on the back patio.
Some local food options include the Copper Creek Inn, Wildberry, and the Basecamp Grill. All these restaurants offer burgers, pastas, and other classic dishes at a somewhat elevated price.
I have not personally tried any of these places, but they have good reviews and seem like a reasonable option after a long day of hiking.
We opted to get takeout pizza from the Pizza Express in Elbe and enjoy it back at our accommodation. The pizza was tasty and there were many topping options.
This is a great alternative for someone who wants to relax at home after a long day.
What to do in Mount Rainier National Park
The best things about finding cabins near Mt Rainier is the ability to visit the park early each morning and spend all day exploring.
Mount Rainier is the perfect getaway for Seattle locals, nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone else who enjoys the outdoors.
This park is the epitome of the pacific northwest with stunning lakes, mountains, rivers, lakes, and wildlife.
Some can’t-miss hikes are the skyline loop trail, the grove of the patriarchs and myrtle falls.
