21 Romantic Things to Do in Vegas: What to do, See, and Eat
Is Las Vegas Romantic? The answer is Yes! There are many great romantic things to do in Vegas as a couple.
In the past four years I’ve visited Las Vegas four times. The first trip was with my mom to celebrate my 21st birthday. The next two were girl’s trips with my college group of friends.
Most recently, I spend a romantic weekend in Vegas with my boyfriend. All these trips were a little bit different and gave me great perspective on how to plan a balanced weekend in Vegas.
This guide to a weekend in Vegas includes everything you need to plan a romantic getaway including where to stay, what to do, and where to eat.
Since there are vast differences between a Las Vegas girl’s trip and a visit with a partner, this guide will focus on the more romantic side to the city.

21 Best Romantic Things to do in Las Vegas
Some of the best activities in Las Vegas are gambling and clubbing. While these can be fun, there’s a lot more to sin city than just the sin.
The following 5 activities are my favorite things to do on the Vegas strip and are perfect for a romantic weekend.
1. See a Cirque du Soleil Show
There are so many great shows in Las Vegas. There are amazing headliner singers, dancers, magicians, and other performers.
While I recommend other shows in Vegas (see below), my number 1 recommendation for a show to see in Las Vegas is Cirque du Soleil.
If you aren’t familiar, Cirque du Soleil shows are a combination of dance, acrobatics, and other tricks that are set to a storyline and amazing music.
There are many different Cirque shows that are all equally amazing. Some of my favorites are Beatles Love which features music by the Beatles and “O” which features aquatic elements.
The first Cirque show I saw in Vegas, and my personal favorite, was Michael Jackson One which tells a story to all of MJ’s best songs. Check Prices & Availability ➜
2. Take a Spin on the High Roller
A quick but rewarding activity on the strip is taking a couple laps on the High Roller. The High Roller is a Ferris wheel located at the Linq promenade.
There are standard cars and bar cars, each with 30-minute rides. The standard car is great for capturing amazing views of the strip.
The bar car has the same amazing views but includes an open bar for the duration of your ride.
3. See the Strip from the Air in a Helicopter Ride
If aerial views of the strip appeal to you, take it to the next level with this Las Vegas strip helicopter ride. While it’s a bit more pricey (though not as expensive as you might think), it is sure to be a highlight of your trip and check an item off your bucket list.
While I haven’t taken this specific helicopter ride, I have taken helicopter tours before, and they are some of my favorite vacation memories of all time.
This tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, a 15-minute flight to see the entire strip, and an option 12-course food tour.
4. See a Comedy Show
As mentioned above, one of the best night time activities in Las Vegas is seeing a show. If you are in Vegas for one weekend, I highly recommend seeing a Cirque show one night and a comedy show the next.
These types of shows are vastly different and will allow you to see the breadth of talent in the city. The best comedy show in Vegas is the Las Vegas Comedy Club where there is a unique line up of local and touring comedians each night. The venue is intimate, but large enough to have a fun crowd.
5. Explore the Hotels and Casinos
No matter who I visit Vegas with, I always plan to spend one day simply exploring the strip. The resorts and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip are like no other.
They are huge, extravagant, and have unique themes. Some of my favorite hotels and resorts in Vegas to explore are the Venetian, Paris, the Bellagio, Caesar’s Palace, and New York New York.
Through these hotels you can pretend to travel the world through Venice, Paris, Lake Como, Rome, and New York. Since there aren’t open container laws in Vegas, be sure to have a drink in hand while you explore.
6. Bellagio Fountains
One of the more romantic things to do in Vegas at night is watch the water and light show at the Bellagio fountains.
The lit up water sprays hundreds of feet in the air, coordinated with popular music. The show runs every 15 minutes from 7pm until midnight.
7. Ride a Gondola Through Venice
If you haven’t ridden gondolas in Venice Italy, you can recreate the experience at the Venetian hotel on the strip.
There are two gondola rides you can take at the Venetian, both of which cost around $40 per person.
The first is indoors which goes through the grand canal shoppes in the resort. The second is outdoors which goes through a replica of the grand canal in Venice.
8. Explore the Ethel M Cactus Garden
The Ethel M chocolate factory and cactus garden is a unique activity in Vegas a bit off the strip.
At the chocolate factory, you can tour the facilities and participate in a chocolate tasting experience.
Outside, there is a beautiful cactus garden that is perfect for a romantic stroll. During the holidays, they decorate the garden with lights, which makes it even more magical.
9. Zipline Over Fremont Street
When people visit Vegas, they typically spend all their time on the Strip. However, I encourage you to spend at least a few hours in downtown Las Vegas.
The best thing to do in downtown Las Vegas is the slotzilla zipline that goes down Fremont street. To make it more romantic, you and your partner can zipline side by side and race to the end.
Some other fun things to do in downtown Vegas are visiting the container park, exploring the arts district, or trying beer at a local brewery.
10. Have a Spa Day
One any romantic trip, a spa day is a great idea. Though you may not think of the spa when you think of Vegas, some of the luxury resorts have world class spas.
Some of the best spas in Las Vegas are:
- The Spa at Encore
- Bellagio Spa & Salon
- Waldorf Astoria Spa & Salon
- Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars
- Canyon Ranch Spa
11. Take Hot Air Balloon Flight
One of the most romantic Las Vegas couple’s activities is a hot air balloon ride over the desert. This is a great way to see the scenery from above, and is less expensive than a helicopter tour.
The tour includes a 60 minute flight where you will see Death Valley, nearby mountain ranges and potentially desert wildlife. The tour concludes with a celebratory champagne toast.
12. Take a Day Trip to the Grand Canyon
If you’ve been to Vegas a few times and have already experienced the top activities, I’d recommend taking a day trip.
One of the best day trips from Las Vegas is to the Grand Canyon. This tour saves you a ton of driving time, by flying a private luxury helicopter.
The 90 minute flight goes over amazing sights such as Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Colorado River, and the west rim of the Grand Canyon.
13. Take a Day Trip to Page Arizona
Another great day trip from Las Vegas is to Page Arizona, where you will find unique rock formations, the Colorado river, and Lake Powell.
This full day trip to Page includes round trip transportation, a guided tour of Antelope Canyon, a short hike to horseshoe bend, and a scenic viewpoint of the lake.
14. Visit the Sphere
The Sphere is the newest entertainment venue in Las Vegas. The entire interior and exterior of the structure is made of screens.
Since this is the largest HD screen in the world, it creates amazing special effects. Right now, you can only see the interior of the Sphere if you attend a concert. However, anyone can view the exterior.
15. Have a Photoshoot
Capture the memories of your romantic Las Vegas trip with a photoshoot. Either capture photos with a tripod or hire a local photography to get some amazing photos of you and your significant other.
16. Get an Adrenaline Burst at New York New York
The roller coaster at New York New York is a fun couple activity if you’re looking for a thrill. Although it’s a bit pricey for a quick ride, the coaster is quite fun!

Las Vegas is home to some of the best shopping in the world. There are everything from luxury designer brands to big department stores.
Treat yourself to a day shopping spree at the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace. If it’s in your budget, get a new purse or shoes as a memento of the trip.
19. Attend a Concert
Many of the best artists in the world come to Las Vegas on their tours. Other artists have residencies in Las Vegas where they perform on a consistent schedule for a few months.
The current concerts in Las Vegas are always changing, so be sure to check with ticket vendors for who is in town during your trip.
20. Try Your Luck at the Casino
This is one of the most common activities in Vegas, for any type of trip. If you and your partner enjoy gambling, bond over your winnings (or losses) and hit the casino.
Some of my favorite casinos in Vegas are at Caesar’s Palace, the MGM Grand, and the Bellagio.
21. Get Married
I put this on here mostly as a joke. But hey, one of the most romantic things to do in Vegas has to be getting married!
If you’re feeling up to it, visit the chapel and tie the knot.

Where to Stay in Vegas for a Romantic Weekend
If you are planning a Romantic trip to Las Vegas, I highly recommend splurging on a nice hotel room. When I travel with friends, I prioritize a large space, a lot of beds, and proximity to clubs.
For a romantic trip, I prioritize high-end amenities, great service, and a luxurious room. The three hotel options below are the best places to stay in Vegas for a romantic trip.
They all have stunning rooms, great amenities, and beautiful properties.
Caesars Palace
Caesar’s Palace is the best of the best when it comes to luxury resorts in Las Vegas. Not only is it the uber-famous hotel you see in movies like “the hangover,” but the hotel truly lives up to the hype.
I recommend staying at Caesar’s Palace for a romantic Vegas trip because of the beautiful rooms, central location on the strip, and great onsite amenities.
On the Caesar’s property, there are many of my favorite restaurants, great shops at the Forum, and amazing shows.
The Aria
While the Aria is not as famous as Caesars, its another great option for a luxury hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. The Aria has beautiful, modern rooms, and great amenities.
On site, there are a few fantastic restaurants and the all-luxury Crystal shops. The Aria also has an express tram on property, making it easy to get around the strip.
Park MGM
For a more budget friendly resort in Las Vegas, I highly recommend the Park MGM. This is where we stayed on our recent vacation.
The Park MGM used to be called the Monte Carlo but is now a fully renovated luxury resort (and the cost hasn’t quite caught up). The Park MGM is home to Eataly, the Dolby Theater, and is connected to the Aria tram.
Romantic Restaurants in Las Vegas
Its no doubt there are hundreds of fantastic restaurants in Las Vegas. If you only have one weekend in Vegas, it can be hard to narrow down where to go.
The following three recommendations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are my top choices for where you need to eat for a date day/night.
For Breakfast: Bouchon Bistro in the Venetian
Bouchon Bistro, by chef Thomas Keller is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants in Las Vegas. Thomas Keller is the head chef of the famous restaurant, the French Laundry in Napa.
He also owns multiple Bouchon Bistro and Bakery locations around the country.
The Bouchon Bistro in the Venetian will transport you to a French bistro with a great view of the hotel’s gardens. The food at Bouchon is fantastic and a great way to start your day.
For Lunch: Mon Ami Gabi at Paris
Between the Paris hotel and the restaurant, itself, it’s easy to forget that you aren’t in France. Mon Ami Gabi is a French bistro in the Paris hotel with a large patio and views of the Bellagio fountain.
French bistro food is one of my favorite cuisines for lunch. Think French onion soup, steak frites, escargot, and crusty French bread. Between the food, drinks, and atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit.
For Dinner: Hell’s Kitchen at Caesar’s Palace
Ever since I watched the show on FOX, I’ve wanted to visit Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas. As a big Gordon Ramsey fan, finally eating at his restaurant was an experience.
If you too are a Hell’s Kitchen or Gordon Ramsey fan, you need to visit.
The menu features the same dishes you see on the show including lobster risotto, scallops, and beef wellington.
The fixed three course menu is a great value to try the highlights of the menu. My one criticism of this restaurant is that the service was not to the level I’d expect for the price point.
