The sunny weather and hot temperatures are some of the top reasons to visit Albania in June. The average temperatures stand at a high of 83°F (28°C) and a low of 63°F (17°C) for the capital city, Tirana, and a high of 87°F (31°C) and a low of 63°F (17°C) for southern coastal Saranda.
Some of the best things to do in Albania during June for those wanting a beach getaway are visiting the cities and villages of Saranda, Ksamil, and Dhermi, among others. Beaches in Albania are home to crystal-clear blue waters, providing the perfect cooldown with the hot temperatures.
June is also a popular time for music festivals along the Albanian Riveria. A few noteworthy ones are the Kala Festival in Dhermi and the UNUM Festival in Shengjin.
If you’re more interested in the history and culture of Albania, a visit to the Bunk’Art museums in Tirana is a great way to learn about the country’s history. In addition, the historical UNESCO Heritage Site cities of Gjirokaster and Berat are charming must-sees!

If you visit England before the end of June, you’ll enjoy the sights before the popular months of July and August. Expect warm weather in the low 70s with little rain.
While most travelers stay in London, don’t discount surrounding areas. The Cotswolds’ villages provide lots of charm with their butter-colored stone cottages. Cornwall offers beautiful fishing villages to the southwest, or you can opt to explore the Jurassic Coastline of Devon.
The island is a historic destination, filled with stunning architecture, Roman ruins, and fairytale structures.
You can spend your days touring some of England’s best castles, like Windsor, Leeds, Arundel, or the Tower of London. Alternatively, Bodiam Castle offers a chance to see one of England’s ruined castles, a quintessential structure surrounded by a moat.
No visit to England is complete without enjoying its pub food. British pubs offer outstanding meals at reasonable prices, whether you drink or not. Be sure to try other classics, such as afternoon tea, Cornish pasties, and fish and chips wrapped in newspaper.

France is definitely one of the best countries to visit in June. Early summer brings warmer temperatures and long sunny days you can fill with sightseeing and memorable experiences.
Paris, the City of Light, tops countless travel bucket lists. Take in iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe and visit the Louvre, one of the finest museums in the world. Take a dinner cruise along the Seine to enjoy the magical ambiance of Paris at night.
The downside of visiting France in June is that a lot of people have the same idea, so you’ll have to contend with more crowds and higher rates. To avoid the crowds, venture beyond Paris and explore more of what France has to offer.
Lyon is worth a visit for many reasons, particularly if you’re a foodie (it’s known as the gastronomic capital of France). Explore the traboules in Vieux Lyon, admire the impressive trompe-l’oeil murals, or visit a gourmet food market.

June is one of the best times to visit Greece. The weather is warm enough to swim in the Aegean sea, but not hot enough to be uncomfortable.
In June, most of the destinations in Greece are far less crowded than in July or August, but because it’s in the high season you won’t have to worry about businesses being closed. Flights, hotels, rentals, and excursions also tend to be priced lower during June than in July and August as well.
If you’re looking to visit Greece in June, be sure to fly in to Athens and explore some of the historical sites such as the Parthenon, Ancient Agora, and Temple of Olympian Zeus.
After you’ve had a chance to explore Athens, take a ferry to island hop! Greece has several different clusters of islands. One of the most popular to visit is the Cyclades where you will find Mykonos and Santorini.

Italy is a popular travel destination in June. June is a top month for visiting Italy from the north to the south.
The air temperatures in Italy in June get high but still not bewildering. The daily average temperatures hover around 21 C (70 F) in the north, 23 C (73 F) in the central part and 26 C (79 F) in the south of the country.
However, popular city destinations like Rome, Florence, and Venice get packed in June. So, avoiding the main cities and choosing road trips, hiking, and swimming instead are the best things to do.
June is perfect for hiking the Dolomites, trekking the Cinque Terre, and touring Lake Como in northern Italy. June is also great for taking a road trip in Tuscany and touring Umbria in central Italy.
June is a good month for visiting the Amalfi coast, swimming in Puglia, and hiking Mount Vesuvius in Sicily in southern Italy.

June is one of the best times to visit the beautiful country of Ireland, known for its rolling green hills and distinctive culture. There’s enough to do to keep you busy for a week or two, making it a perfect destination for a summer road trip in Europe.
You can hike in the mountains of Wicklow or Kerry, stroll through historic Temple Bar in Dublin, or grab a pint at a local pub. Gaze out over the Cliffs of Moher or kiss the Blarney Stone for an iconic, but perhaps touristy, afternoon.
Although June is one of the warmest months in Ireland, the weather is often unpredictable. When packing for Ireland, layers are essential. You’ll want to bundle up for chilly afternoons and evenings near the coast, but midday can be warm enough for a t-shirt and shorts.

8. Luxembourg

June is a magical time to explore Luxembourg. An early summer visit maximizes your daylight for exploring and beats the extreme heat of the summer.
The peak tourism months are July and August so you should beat the largest crowds by traveling in June, but will still need to make dinner reservations.
Live music fills the squares this time of year and you’ll find local flavors at the open air markets.
Luxembourg is easily reached by plane, train, or car. Visitors should start their journey in Luxembourg City where the visitor center hosts a fantastic 2 hour walking tour called the City Promenade.
If you’re visiting Luxembourg City with kids, request the self guided tour for children! It’s a fun scavenger hunt through the city with interesting facts and trivia. Kids solve clues to unlock a code to a safe and win a small prize.
The Le Chemin de la Corniche, known as the “Most Beautiful Balcony in Europe” offers the most picture perfect panoramic views.
Luxembourg City caters to every member of your family. Let your kids unleash their imagination at the Pirate Ship Playground and waterscape (free). Don’t forget to satisfy your sweet tooth at The Chocolate House with its handcrafted chocolates and cakes.
After spending a day or two in Luxembourg City, venture out to Vianden or Ectermach, Luxembourg.
Vianden, in the north of Luxembourg, is a picturesque town that shouldn’t be overlooked. It is renowned for its beautifully preserved Vianden Castle, which dates back to the 9th century. Explore the cobbled streets, enjoy the scenic views of the Our River, and immerse yourself in the town’s enchanting atmosphere.
In the east, Echternach is known as the oldest town in the country. The highlight is Echternach Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a leisurely stroll along the medieval streets, visit the Basilica of Saint Willibrord, or connect with nature at Gorges du Loup.

9. Northern Ireland

As countries go? Northern Ireland is a hidden gem and June is the best time to visit.
The weather is mild, the cities aren’t packed yet, and most sites of interest are open (more open in July and August). There are many free things to do in Belfast, so its a great home base.
Mural Walking Tours: The street art tells the story of this city and country. We recommend the Black Cab Taxi Tour in Belfast for a mural tour.
Titanic Quarter: The Titanic departed from Belfast! They even have a museum dedicated to it. While we didn’t go to the museum, we spent a few minutes thinking about it while walking around.
Cathedral Quarter: You’ll love the aesthetic here, especially if you enjoy photography.
There are also many great day trips from Belfast, and this is where Northern Ireland really shines.
Carrick-a-Rede Bridge: Suspended over a 100-ft high chasm, this walkway over a rope bridge provides some of the most stunning panoramic views of the surrounding cliffs and emerald waters.
Dunluce Castle: This medieval castle overlooking the sea is something from a fairytale. It’s especially magical on misty days in June.
Dark Hedges: Northern Ireland boasts many filming locations for Game of Thrones – so if you’re a fan of the show, you’ll recognize Dark Hedges as Kingsroad.
Giant’s Causeway: You can’t visit Northern Ireland without seeing Giant’s Causeway – especially if you appreciate pretty views and unique landscapes.

10. North Macedonia

June is the perfect time to visit North Macedonia. You’ll find beautiful weather, mild temperatures, and sunshine that make it perfect for exploring the beautiful outdoors.
As well as dozens of music festivals and cultural events, it’s one of the best months for seeing the landscape. Head to Lake Ohrid, one of the most beautiful destinations within North Macedonia, to enjoy a boat trip or swim in the crystal clear waters.
Ohrid is a charming town with bars and cafes overlooking the water, perfect for coffee with a view. Outdoor enthusiasts can head to one of the national parks for hiking and biking, too.
Afterwards, you might want to head to one of the natural hot springs for some rest and relaxation.
The cities of Skopje and Bitola are pleasant for exploring in the June weather, too – you can’t miss Skopje’s bazaar, and both cities have some excellent restaurants where you can enjoy sampling local cuisine and wine al fresco.
Do note, the cities can get hot in June, so you may want to book a hotel with a pool so you can cool off.

11. Norway

June is a wonderful time for visiting Norway. The long days mean there’s tons of time for sightseeing – and June is a great month to see Norway.
There’s a better chance of sunny days, the countryside is green and beautiful, while up on the highest mountain plateaus, the winter snows are still crisp.
The summer events calendar is in full swing, with festivals popping up all over Norway, and it’s the perfect time to take part in outdoor activities like hiking.
A great way to see as much of Norway as possible in a short time (and to make the most of those wonderful long days) is to do Norway in a Nutshell.
Norway in a Nutshell is a self-guided tour which starts from either Bergen or Oslo, and can be done as a round trip or a one-way journey.
Along the way, you’ll take a cruise along the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, drive down one of Norway’s steepest roads and travel on not one but two legendary railways, passing waterfalls, lakes and pretty villages along the route.
The journey can be done as one epic day trip, or you can break it up with stays along the route in lovely towns like Voss (Norway’s extreme sports capital) or Flåm, a gorgeous village on the shores of the Aurlandsfjord.

Portugal is the perfect European location for a summer vacation.
Firstly, the beaches in Portugal are some of the best in Europe. Lagos, in particular, is a charming small town that has an incredible beach, cobblestone alleys, and incredible grottos.
For something more touristy, you can head to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. You can take a sightseeing tour where you’ll stop by famous landmarks such as Belem Tower and Castelo de S. Jorge. In the evening, you can even head out on a sunset sailing experience where you can taste some of Portugal’s best wines.
June is a great time to visit because the weather is warm and sunny. Also, Festas dos Santos Populares, which is a celebration of the Patron Saint of Lisbon, takes place during this month.
During this time, people take to the streets eating, drinking, and enjoying parades! Plan on spending 10 days in Portugal to get the most out of your trip.
That being said, June tends to be a pretty busy month for tourists, therefore may be more crowds during this time of year. You will also want to make sure you book your hotels as far in advance as possible to avoid high costs.

Scotland is an incredible destination, mixing beautiful historic cities, like Edinburgh, with stunning natural beauty, like the Highlands or the rugged Hebride Islands.
June is the perfect time to visit Scotland, given it’s one of the warmest months in the country and offers reasonably clear skies (at least for Scotland, anyway!)
Plus, it’s significantly less crowded than the other popular summer months.Enjoy the nice weather by hitting some of the Scotland’s hiking trails, like the Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye, for dramatic rock formations and beautiful views of the coastline.
Alternatively, if you get a rainy day, consider riding on the real life Hogwarts Express in Scotland—yes, you can ride the train, called the Jacobite Express, that was used in the Harry Potter movies as it winds through the Scottish Highlands and passes some iconic scenes from the movie, including the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Whether you are a foodie, a lover of architecture, or have an appreciation for the arts, Spain has something for everyone. Popular places to visit include Valencia, Barcelona, Mallorca, and the Camino de Santiago.
Each town and area offers something special and unique. For example, the Camino de Santiago is often a pilgrimage for the faithful, while Barcelona is a city full of Antonio Gaudi’s incredible mosaic work and creative architecture. Likewise, you can see the works of Picasso throughout Spain as well.
Furthermore, June is a fantastic time to visit Spain as the temperatures are warm and it’s right before the peak summer season. If you visit in early June, you may also beat the family crowds as many schools are still in session.
You can plan to do an entire trip moving from some of Spain’s most popular cities or enjoy spending one day in Barcelona before boarding a cruise ship.
Using the train system in Spain makes for easy travel between destinations. However, if you are looking for a more all-inclusive experience, many cruise lines offer ports of call in a variety of Spanish towns.

June is one of the best months to visit Switzerland – while the weather is already warm enough to be outside and explore mountains and cities, the peak summer crowds are not here yet.
If you visit Switzerland early June some high alpine trails will likely still have some snow, so if you want to hike, plan your trip to late June.
Cities like Thun, Interlaken, Lugano and Lausanne provide access to superb outdoor opportunities like hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, camping and paragliding.
To enjoy the best of Switzerland, all you need to do is a simple train ride. Make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time on the SBB app that you can download on your phone for free.
If you like adventures, spend a couple of days in Interlaken, a base for exploring the Swiss Alps where you can enjoy magnificent landscapes and get a glimpse into typical mountain villages located high in the Alps.

Madagascar is an excellent off the beaten destination for intrepid travellers. This African island nation is home to some of the most unique wildlife and biodiverse landscapes.
There are many fun adventures to be had on Madagascar including lemur tracking, jungle explorations, and my all-time favourite, trekking in one of the many national parks.
June is a fantastic month to visit Madagascar, as it falls during the dry season. The rains have recently subsided, leaving the landscapes still lush and vibrant. While technically the coldest month of the year, June still provides plenty of sunshine and daytime temperatures that rarely fall below 20 degrees Celsius.
June is also great for wildlife spotting on the eastern coast, including whale watching and the hatching of baby turtles on the west coast. This month is also quiet in terms of tourists, as it’s the shoulder season.
One of the downsides to visiting Madagascar in June is the temperatures at night. Nighttime temperatures can be particularly chilly, especially in the highlands. This may make multiday treks or wildlife spotting more challenging.

However, June is the golden hour for a visit. First, crowds are low, especially in the first part of the month since so many kids are still in school.

While coastal parts of Mexico can see some precipitation in June, it’s usually intermittent with on-and-off rain in the afternoon. June is the beginning of the rainy season in Mexico, when rain isn’t as bad as during the hurricane season in September.

Peru is great to visit most of the year, but June is absolutely the best month to visit – for the weather, how busy it is and prices.
In a country as diverse as Peru, there’s so much to do. You can hike mountains to stunning alpine lakes, go whale watching in the Pacific, see glaciers high up in the Andes, spend time in the Amazon rainforest, visit the famous Machu Picchu ruins and sandboard in the desert sand dunes.
And June brings the best all-round weather to Peru. Dry season is in full season bringing blue skies, this means you’re less likely to have views of mountains or tourist sites covered by clouds and sweltering temperatures in the Amazon are starting to drop.
Additionally, June is the start of the high season in Peru. But it’s not quite the peak months of July and August when North Americans and Europeans tend to flock here during their summer vacations to tick off bucket list experiences.
Likewise, peak season can mean slightly higher prices. However, there’s almost always more spaces on tours than there are people, so this does give a good opportunity to haggle. Even more so if you’re booking more than one tour at once.

June is high season on the island when the Beach Clubs are pumping with lots of headlining acts, the surrounding islands are perfect for diving and snorkeling, you can experience all of the funky cafes & restaurants, the sunsets are on fire, and it’s an overall high vibe time to visit.
If taking the road less travelled and avoiding the crowds is more your style of travel, you may choose to skip Bali and explore the untouched beauty of Sumba, visit the Orangutans in Indonesian Borneo, or sail through the beautiful Komodo National Park where you’ll find ancient Komodo Dragons.

Kyrgyzstan has so much to offer the intrepid traveller: majestic mountains, world-class trekking, and a unique nomadic culture. And to boot, the people are friendly, it’s very safe and travel is pretty straightforward.
The only catch? English isn’t widely spoken, so be sure to learn a few words in Russian to help you get around while you’re there.
The best thing to do in Kyrgyzstan is to go trekking. With endless routes scattered around the country, you can explore Kyrgyzstan’s beautiful mountains for months and never be bored.
While you’re out there, be sure to visit one of the country’s incredible alpine lakes. Remote Kel Suu Lake, nestled between high cliffs and snow-capped mountains near the border with China, is the star attraction of them all.
Learning about Kyrgyzstan’s rich nomadic culture is another highlight. You can stay in a yurt, try fermented horse’s milk or go on a horse trek for days. The choice is yours!

Though November through March is the most popular time to visit Thailand, the country is warm year-round, and the ‘green season’, June in particular, offers lush landscapes, lower prices on accommodations and flights, and fewer crowds.
June is technically part of the monsoon season, which runs from May through October, but any rainfall is usually over quickly, and Thailand is otherwise bathed in sunshine during this time of year.

Although June is one of the hottest months in Vietnam, it is still a perfect time to especially visit Northern Vietnam.
Being a shoulder season month, you are likely to find great deals on lodging and be able to enjoy places like Ha Long Bay since it will be warm enough to swim.
Make sure to check out Hanoi and Sapa as well in the north and the colorful city of Hoi An in Central Vietnam.
If you plan on heading south, there is a high chance of rain however, showers tend to be short and sweet. Putting up with some rain is definitely worth it though because June is right in the middle of the Green Turtle Nesting season at the beaches of Con Dao Island.
A visit here will leave you with a lifelong memory when you help with the release of baby sea turtles from the incubation center. While you are down that way, a stop in Ho Chi Minh is a must where you will find lots and lots to do and eat!
