The key to dressing for Disney World in February is layering cozy Disney-themed pieces with comfortable shoes that can handle a full day of walking. The weather can be a bit unpredictable, so having options for both cool mornings and warmer afternoons is essential.

My birthday is in February so it is the most common time I visit Disney. My closet is stuffed with pink and red heart-themed Disney merch.

Disney February Packing List

Valentine’s Themed Clothing:

Disneyland will be themed for Valentine’s day for most of February. The characters will be in themed outfits, there will be pink and red hearts all around, and there is even themed food.

To fit to theme, I love wearing valentine’s themed Disney clothes to match the season. There are a ton of cute options from Etsy and directly through Disney.

Layers:

The weather can vary widely in Orland in February. In the morning it can be quite cold, but still very warm and humid in the middle of the day.

To prepare, I recommend wearing layers that you can add or remove throughout the day. I recommend things like light jackets, sweatshirts, and light sweaters.

Comfortable Sneakers:

I have a whole post on what shoes to wear to Disney World. The short of it is I recommend comfortable sneakers or sandals,

In February, I tend to recommend sneakers since it is colder and I personally find sneakers more comfortable than sandals anyway. Some of my favorite sneakers for Disney are Adidas Sambas, Nike Dunks, or any Hokas.

What to Put in Your Day Bag

One of the best ways to set yourself up for a successful day in the park is keeping your day bag stocked with all of the essentials. But don’t stuff it too much or it’ll get heavy after a while.

I like to use a crossbody bag that is simple to carry, easy to fit in the bag holder on rides, and the perfect size for the below essentials.

  • Portable Charger – It’s important to keep your phone charged all day since it’s your ticket, planning tool, and camera. I recommend a portable charger because the Disney app can drain your battery quickly.
  • Sunscreen – The Orlando sun can be intense, so pack sunscreen to reapply throughout the day.
  • Hair Tie – My long hair goes crazy on the faster rides, so I always recommend a hair tie to throw it back and keep it out of my face.
  • Refillable Water Bottle – Like most things at Disney, water bottles are very expensive. You can get free ice water at all the restaurants, but the cups are pretty small. I prefer to bring my own water bottle to refill throughout the day.
  • Hand Sanitizer – It is no surprise that there are many people at Disney World. That means there are also a ton of germs. I love how this hand sanitizer smells and it doesn’t leave behind a sticky feeling when I use it.
  • Moleskin – Even with the most comfortable shoes, blisters can happen after a long Disney day. I find that Moleskin works way better than Band-Aids to prevent my feet from rubbing.

What NOT to Wear

When planning your outfit for a February trip to Disneyland, there are a few items you should avoid wearing:

1. Heavy Winter Coats: While it may be colder in February than the summer months, it is still not poofy coat weather most of the time. Also, Disneyland tends to be quite crowded and indoors are often heated. Opt for layering with sweaters and jackets that can easily be taken off.

2. Open-Toed Shoes: Avoid sandals or open-toed shoes as you’ll be doing a lot of walking and standing in lines. I recommend a comfortable pair of sneakers or running shoes. My #1 recommendation for Disney footwear is Hokas.

3. Shorts and Tank Tops: The opposite of #1, don’t go too far in the opposite direction and wear shorts and tank. It is colder in February, especially at morning and night. Again, layers are your friend.

4. High Heels: For obvious reasons, high heels are always a bad idea for Disney. Comfort is key.

5. Costumes: No matter how much you like your favorite Disney characters, it is against park policy for adults to wear costumes. Instead, opt for themed t-shirts or Mickey ears.

Weather in Orlando in February

February is one of my favorite months in Orlando for weather. Anytime from late October through March, you will find the most moderate temperatures which are ideal for exploring the parks.

The average high temperature hovers around 73°F (23°C), while the average low is around 52°F (11°C). The lows are usually early in the morning or at night, so be sure to pack a jacket for morning rope drop or the fireworks at night.

Rainfall is moderate, with an average of 3 inches throughout the month. You likely don’t need to worry about rain, but check the forecast the week before your trip to confirm.

During the day, temperatures can vary significantly, with mornings starting cool and afternoons warming up, often reaching the peak temperatures in the early afternoon. Evenings tend to cool down, so it’s advisable to dress in layers to adjust throughout the day.

Festivals and Events at Disney World in February

In February, Disney World hosts a variety of festivals and events.

Some of the popular festivals that take place during this month include the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which celebrates visual, culinary, and performing arts. You can enjoy art exhibits, live performances, and delicious food offerings.

Additionally, the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend usually occurs in February, where runners can participate in various races through the theme parks.
